Thank you for making music with us!

Our second annual Fête de la Musique – World Music Day was a huge success! On June 21, 2025, over 40 musical acts filled the streets of Georgetown and the stages of La Maison Française with incredible energy, rhythm, and community spirit. From alleyways to courtyards, the music truly brought the neighborhood to life. A huge thank you to all the performers, partners, and attendees who made this celebration unforgettable. Missed it? Don’t worry, we’ll be back in 2026 with even more music, more magic, and more memories. Stay tuned!

A GLOBAL EVENT

Each year, over 1,000 cities throw citywide music celebrations around the summer solstice. It started 40+ years ago in France, when the Ministry of Culture imagined a day where free, live music would be everywhere: street corners and parks, rooftops, storefronts, and mountaintops. Unlike a typical music festival, anyone and everyone would be invited to join and play music and host performances. It’s called Fête de la Musique, “Make Music Day.”
