LET’S MAKE MUSIC!

Join us for the third annual Fête de la Musique – Make Music Day on Saturday, June 20, 2026! Over 40 musical acts will perform in 10+ outdoor locations in the Georgetown commercial district and on two stages at the French Embassy.

CALL FOR MUSICIANS

This year’s Call for Musicians is now open through May 18. We invite singers, church choirs, jazz combos, rock bands, glee clubs, marching bands, mariachis, DJs and musicians of all genres, ages, and skill levels to apply to perform in the event’s third edition.

A GLOBAL EVENT

Each year, over 1,000 cities throw citywide music celebrations around the summer solstice. It started 40+ years ago in France, when the Ministry of Culture imagined a day where free, live music would be everywhere: street corners and parks, rooftops, storefronts, and mountaintops. Unlike a typical music festival, anyone and everyone would be invited to join and play music and host performances. It’s called Fête de la Musique, “Make Music Day.”

This year, Fête de la Musique - Make Music Day coincides with Capital Pride in DC.

We invite all to celebrate that same spirit of inclusivity and expression through the universal language of music. As part of Pride Month, the French Embassy will highlight artists whose work and artistic path show a sustained commitment.
